As well as the programme of varied temporary exhibitions, (for the current exhibitions, see exhibitions), Museum Castle Wijchen has a small collection of modern art. The work of artist Pedro Garciarias, who lives in Spain, has a prominent position in the collection. During the exhibition of his work in the Museum in 2003, Pedro made a number of sketches and paintings of artefacts in the archaeological collection. He donated five of these works to the Museum.
Work by the artists Klaas Gubbels and J.C. Gerard is also represented in the modern art collection.
