From Friday February 10th Museum Kasteel Wijchen presents an exhibition of sculptures by Antoinette Briët an artist from the city Eindhoven and paintings by Freek Sanders, an artist from the city of Nijmegen, but origin Wijchen.

Antoinette Briët often gets her ideas from the world of animals. The form determines if she uses bronze, stone or wood.

Stof tot nadenken (Food for thought) - Jenny Ymker and Elisabeth Kaldeway

Our artists voor the exhibition are Elisabeth Kaldeway and Jenny Ymker. Although they have completely different ways of working, they both use similar themes: investigating the traditional ways of thinking about women, motherhood, mother love and independant living. Their work really is "Food for thought".

Francis Konings uses for her pencil drawings the structure of cities. The many variaties in form and the transparance of the buildings inspire her to make impressions of actual or imaginary cities. Especially the transparance does make her work spacial.

Los van de Oorsprong (seperate from the origin) - paintings by Jeroen van Herten

Jeroen van Herten, artist from Nijmegen, exhibits paintings and drawings which have their origin in observations. He registers his observations in a sketch, photo or memory. In his studio he tries to capture the essence of his observations with pencil or paint. During the process the images becomes abstract, separate from the origin.
