Do you also love collecting? Or do you want to start collecting? Then come to Museum Kasteel Wijchen during the autumn holidays. Search the castle for small objects and fill your own handmade collection box.
When you enter the exhibition Room of Wonder, you’ll discover all sorts of strange objects and beautiful things that people have collected. But also what people collect today. An exhibition about collecting and collectors. You’ll step into a world full of wonders!
In the exhibition, you’ll see a video of a girl with a box containing all sorts of small things—a collection box. On Thursday, February 19 you can decorate your own collection box. Once you’ve finished your box, you’ll go on a scavenger hunt in the castle, looking for small things like pebbles, shells, and more. Fill your box with the things you find along the way and become a collector! At home, you can, of course, add to your box things you already have.
Practical information
The children’s activity will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM (walk-in).
The activity is included in the museum admission price; there is no additional charge.
